Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information SketchSpace AR (“SketchSpace,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use the SketchSpace AR mobile app (the “App”), how we use it, and the choices you have. The App is published by RigelApps.
1. Information we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. The App may process the following:
Information you provide
- Drawings and photos you choose — When you select a photo from your library to use as an AR overlay, or save a completed drawing, that image is processed on your device. If you opt in to cloud sync (where available), the image is uploaded to our cloud storage tied to your anonymous account identifier.
- Favorites and progress — The templates you favorite and drawings you mark as completed are stored locally on your device and, where cloud sync is enabled, in our backend.
- Support correspondence — If you email us, we receive your message and any contact details you include.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous account identifier — When you first open the App, a random user ID is created for you through Firebase Anonymous Authentication. We do not require an email, name, or sign-up.
- Usage and event data — Which screens you view, which templates you open, which features you use, session length, app version, device model, OS version, language, and country (derived from IP, not stored).
- Diagnostic data — Crash reports and basic performance metrics so we can fix bugs.
2. How we use information
- To provide the core AR drawing experience (camera overlay, templates, lessons, favorites, completed-drawing gallery).
- To sync your account, favorites, and saved work across devices when you opt in.
- To measure how the App is used and improve features, performance, and stability.
- To process and verify in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
3. Camera and photo access
The core feature of SketchSpace AR uses your device's camera to display the chosen sketch as a semi-transparent overlay so you can trace it. The camera feed is rendered on your device in real time and is not recorded, transmitted, or stored by us. We do not save photos or video from the camera unless you explicitly tap "save."
The App may also request access to your photo library so you can pick an image to trace (for example, your own reference photo). Selected images are processed locally; they are only uploaded if you opt in to cloud features.
You can revoke camera and photo permissions at any time in your device's settings.
4. Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services. Each provider acts as an independent controller or processor under its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Analytics) — anonymous account identifier, app events, diagnostic data, and any user-generated content you choose to sync. See Firebase privacy.
- Mixpanel (product analytics) — usage events tied to your anonymous identifier and basic device properties. See Mixpanel privacy.
- RevenueCat (in-app purchase management) — purchase, subscription, and entitlement data tied to your anonymous identifier. See RevenueCat privacy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — process payments and provide their own receipts and policies.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your full payment details. We do receive purchase confirmations (the product ID, transaction date, and platform-issued identifiers) through RevenueCat so we can unlock the content you bought and manage your subscription status.
6. Data retention
We keep your anonymous identifier, favorites, and synced content for as long as the account is active. If you uninstall the App and do not return, anonymous accounts and their associated content may be deleted after a period of inactivity. You can request deletion at any time (see Your rights).
Aggregate, anonymized analytics may be retained for longer to understand product trends.
7. Children's privacy
SketchSpace AR is a general-audience drawing app and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@rigelapps.com and we will delete it.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, or other jurisdictions with privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we use an anonymous identifier rather than an account tied to your email, we may need information from you (such as the identifier the App displays in its Profile or Settings screen) to locate your data before we can fulfill a request. You can also reset your analytics identifier or block tracking by reinstalling the App or using your device's "Limit Ad Tracking" / App Tracking Transparency controls.
9. International transfers
SketchSpace AR is operated from outside the EEA and UK. When you use the App, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those of your country. We use providers (such as Google Firebase) that offer standard contractual protections for international transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the App. Continued use of SketchSpace AR after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
